I‘ve been obsessed with mermaids ever since I was a little girl. One day as I was mindless scrolling through TikTok I came across a video of a mermaid! Her name is Vero Beach Mermaid and if you don’t follow her, you SHOULD! I was enthralled with it and immediately became obsessed. I knew that this was going to be my hobby and maybe even career! I immediately took the the internet in search of a tail only to find out that they were out of my price range. I came across Fin Fun Mermaid Tails on Amazon and figured it was a great place to start! I ordered one and when it arrived I ran to the pool to try it out! It swam beautifully and I used it for the entire summer.

Here’s a link to Fin Fun Adult Mermaid Tails with Monofin:

I was very pleased with the quality of this tail and had so much fun swimming in it but after summer ended I was ready to invest in something more professional.
After lots of research and shopping around I decided to get the FinFolk Fabric Tail.

Here a link to the FinFolk website:
I now own two of the FinFolk Fabric tails. I have considered buying a silicone one but I’m just so happy with the fabric that I haven’t felt the need to invest that much. Maybe someday! You will need to buy a monofin for the FinFolk tails. The one I bought and that they recommend is the Finis Shooter Monofin.

I bought mine on Amazon, here’s the link:

After taking this tail out to the hot springs for 4-5 hours I quickly realized that the swim socks I had purchased did not provide enough protection for me. I ended up with two horrible blisters on my feet! Don’t make the same mistakes that I did… here’s the socks I got to better protect my feet.

I got these on Amazon, here’s the link:

The next few things I recommend may not be needed by everyone but they sure helped me a lot as a beginner. At first I really struggled to swim without plugging my nose. No matter what I did the water would go right up my nose and down my throat. I invested in this nose plug to help me out. I love it because it’s small and almost invisible in the water!
Get it on Amazon.

I also recommend some goggles. Even though it’s fun to look beautiful in the water without them, they are very convenient to have while practicing, exploring new waters or just to protect your eyes from irritants or infections.

Here’s some that I love:
Speedo Unisex-Adult Swim Goggles Hydrospex Classic https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00005UDHZ/ref=cm_sw_r_ Along with that I recommend getting an eye rinse incase of the event you do get something in your eye or just after swimming in murky or Chlorinated water.

Heres a link to one on Amazon:
Bausch & Lomb 620252 Eye Wash Removes Foreign Particles 4 Fluid oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00443J
I hope this helps you in your journey to become a real mermaid! Follow your dreams 💜🧜🏻♀️
